About Us / Why Choose Us
Choosing a healthcare staffing provider is not simply about finding someone who can cover a shift.
The person supplied may be supporting someone who is unwell, vulnerable, living with complex needs or depending on others for essential aspects of their daily life.
That is why our approach starts with a different question:
“Would I trust this person with my own mum?”

Right Person. Right Skills. Right Setting. Right Match.
At Veterans Healthcare Staffing UK, we combine safer recruitment, compliance checks, competency matching and values-led recruitment to help organisations find healthcare professionals appropriate for their services.

Availability matters.
But availability alone does not make somebody the right person for an assignment.
When matching healthcare professionals, we consider:
The requirements will vary depending on the role and assignment.
Our objective is simple:
Right Person. Right Skills. Right Setting. Right Match.
01
Skills and experience are important, but so is how somebody treats people.
Our recruitment approach is influenced by:
We want professionals who demonstrate respect, compassion, professionalism, responsibility and a genuine commitment to the people they support.
02
The M.U.M. Test brings our recruitment philosophy back to something human.
M
Would I trust this person with my own mum?
U
Do they take time to understand the person, role and responsibilities?
M
Will they protect people's dignity, privacy and respect?
For children’s services, we apply the same principle:
“Would I trust this person with my own child?”
03
Before healthcare professionals are considered for deployment, we undertake recruitment and compliance checks appropriate to their role and jurisdiction.
These may include:
Additional requirements may apply depending on the client, role, setting and location.
We do not describe somebody as suitable simply because they have submitted an application.
Recruitment evidence must be appropriately reviewed before deployment.
04
A training certificate tells us that somebody has completed training.
It does not automatically demonstrate that they are competent to perform every associated healthcare task.
This distinction is particularly important in complex and specialist healthcare staffing.
Depending on the assignment, relevant competencies may include:
We consider the competencies required for the assignment and match these against the worker’s evidence, experience and scope of practice.
05
Where a role requires professional registration, this forms part of our compliance process.
For Registered Nurses, this includes verification of appropriate Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) registration.
Our nursing workforce includes:
Professional registration does not replace appropriate matching. We also consider the nurse’s experience, competencies and suitability for the particular assignment.
06
Someone may be an excellent healthcare professional and still not be the right person for every environment.
We support organisations across settings including:
The person’s previous experience, skills and competencies should reflect the requirements of the setting wherever appropriate.
07
Our workforce includes:
This allows us to consider the actual staffing requirement, rather than trying to make one type of worker fit every situation.
08
Different workforce pressures require different solutions.
We provide:
Whether an organisation needs one professional for a shift or support with a wider workforce requirement, we start by understanding what is actually needed.
09
Veterans Healthcare Staffing UK is veteran founded.
Our military heritage has influenced our approach to service, responsibility, teamwork, reliability and professionalism.
But our workforce and services are open to everyone.
Healthcare professionals do not need to be military or NHS veterans to work with us, and organisations do not need a military connection to use our staffing services.
What matters is whether someone is appropriate for the role and shares the standards we expect.
10
We support staffing requirements across:
Healthcare workforce requirements are not identical across these jurisdictions.
We therefore consider applicable employment, safeguarding, criminal/background checking, professional registration, immigration/work-permission and other jurisdiction-specific requirements when relevant.
11
Healthcare workforce supply is different from taking responsibility for the delivery of a regulated care service.
When we supply workers to another healthcare or care organisation, the client organisation remains responsible for the assessment, care planning, management, supervision and delivery of its service, while we are responsible for supplying workers in accordance with the agreed staffing arrangement.
This distinction is important because Veterans Healthcare Ltd also operates regulated care services separately from its healthcare workforce-supply activities.
It comes down to a straightforward approach:
We cannot promise that every staffing challenge will be easy.
We can promise that our starting point will never simply be:
“Who can we send?”
It will be:
“Who is the right person?”
Right Person. Right Skills. Right Setting. Right Match.
