Complex care requires more than completing a training course. We match staff according to their experience, training and demonstrated competency for the specific clinical intervention required.
Staff should only undertake clinical tasks that fall within their role, competence and agreed responsibilities for the assignment.
Appropriate checks include appropriate criminal-record and barred-list checks for the jurisdiction and role, Right to Work, references, employment history, qualifications, specialist training and competency assessment, with NMC registration verified for Registered Nurses.
