Depending on their role and competencies, staff may support with personal care, daily living, communication, emotional wellbeing, community participation, health needs and promoting independence and development.
Working with children requires appropriate safeguarding knowledge, safer recruitment and appropriate criminal-record and barred-list checks for the jurisdiction and role, alongside experience and competencies relevant to the individual assignment.
Where complex healthcare needs are involved, staff must have the appropriate training and demonstrated competencies for any clinical tasks they undertake.
We consider the child’s age, needs, communication, risks, family circumstances, service requirements and required competencies when matching staff.
